The UNDP Programme “Partnership for the Future” in collaboration with the Regional Environmental Centre (REC) is pleased to announce the organization of a one day seminar in Nicosia on 12 th June 2006 on the EU Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) procedures.

The awareness event will aim at offering an overview of the EU practices for EIA and Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA). In particular the following topics will be developed:

• EIA requirements and tools for implementing EIA procedures;

• SEA requirements and comparison with EIA;

• Experience in the implementation in EU Member States;

The seminar is meant for max 60 people from organizations, Municipalities, NGOs and professionals involved in this topic.

Working language of the seminar will be English with simultaneous interpretation into Turkish. Registration will be done on first come first served basis.
