Launching of the European Week
for Safety and Health at Work 2004

The European Agency for Safety and Health at Work is pleased to announce the launching of the European Week for Safety and Health at Work on 30 April, 2004. The massage for this years campaign will be focused on “Construction Safety”.

On this occasion, the Ministry of Labour and Social Insurance, in cooperation with the members of the Pancyprian Safety and Health Council and the EU funded UNDP/UNOPS Programme Partnership for the Future will be organising the Pancyprian Spring Conference on Safety and Health at Work which will take place at the International Conference Centre in Nicosia on Friday 30 April 2004, from 9.00 am to 12.00. The Minister of Labour and Social Insurance Mr. Makis Keravnos will address the Conference.

Mr. Andreas Patay from the Swedish Environment Authority will be the guest speaker Mr. Patay will present the effects of practical application of the national legislation resulting from the Directive 92/57/EEC on Temporary or Mobile Construction Sites.

Furthermore, the action plan concerning the activities of the Safety and Health at Work Week 2004 in Cyprus, which is scheduled for 18-22 October 2004, will also be presented.

The Conference is open to Employers, Safety Officers, Safety Representatives, Representatives of Employersґ Organisations and Trade Unions and individuals with particular interest in the issues of health and safety at work.
