a candidate to fill the position of
Terms of Reference
Project: UNDP Partnership for the Future: Private Sector Development within the Turkish-Cypriot Community(PSD)
Title: Procurement Specialist
Duty Station: Nicosia, Cyprus
Contract typology: Special Service Agreement on a monthly lump-sum basis
Expect start: As soon as possible
Duration: Initial assignment of five months, renewable
The PSD is part of the initiatives carried out by UNDP and funded by the EU through the Council Regulation No 389/2006, under the Programme “Partnership for the Future (PFF)” which aims, as ultimate goal, at contributing to the peace-building process in Cyprus.
In particular, the PSD focuses on:
Secondary Education with specialized training in procurement. University Degree in Business or Public Administration would be desirable, but it is not a requirement.
3 to 5 years of relevant administrative experience is required at the national or international level. Experience in the usage of computers and office software packages (MS Word, Excel, etc.) and knowledge of automated procurement systems, experience in handling of web based management systems.
Fluent written and spoken English and Turkish a must. Knowledge of other languages an advantage
The procurement specialist is expected to report to the Programme Manager.
The procurement specialist is expected to carry out his/her duties from the UNDP-PFF office.
Deadline for submitting applications: 24 March 2009. Applicants are supposed to submit a CV, a motivation letter as well as an indication of their proposed monthly lump-sum
UNDP will approach qualified and short-listed applicants for the price quotation. This price quotation should indicate the requested monthly lump-sum for the work described in this TOR.
