The United Nations Development Programme Partnership for the Future is seeking
a candidate to fill the position of
Research Assistant

Under the funding of the European Union, the UNDP Programme “Partnership for the Future” (PFF) is looking for a local Research Assistant in order to collect and elaborate information and statistics to assess the progress in achieving the Millennium Development Goals in the Turkish Cypriot Community. Description of Responsibilities :
The Research Assistant will undertake the following tasks working at the office of UNDP-PFF in Cyprus;
1. Arrange meetings with relevant local actors in order to collect and discuss data and information on topics such as: health, poverty, environment, education;
2. Make elaborations of data collected;
3. Translate relevant parts of documents and data from Turkish language and prepare summary reports and tables in English.
The research Assistance will be coordinated and supervised by the Environmental Adviser of UNDP-PFF.
Competencies :
* Diligence, attention to critical details, capacity to dialogue with stakeholders. Skills in statistical data elaboration and in survey. Ability to apply experience and skills to ensure delivery of services responsive to the tasks. Good drafting and presentation skills.
Qualifications :
The research Assistance must fulfill the following minimum requirements:
· Degree in Statistics or other relevant disciplines as the one subject of this assignment
· At least 2 years of experience in sectors related to the assignment.
· Knowledge of software for elaboration of data (spreadsheets, statistical software, etc.)
· Fluent in Turkish and working knowledge of English
· Resident in Cyprus
Quotation :
